The movie Swingers does a good job in displaying both the "Alpha Male" and the "Average Nice Guy" characters. Any man who wants to learn ho to attract women Swingers is a great movie to use for modeling and if you are trying to improve your relationships with women I am sure you will see a little of the character Mike in you. Trent played by Vince Vaughn is the ultimate "Alpha Male"; throughout the entire movie he displays his sense of humor, playfulness, and cocky funny. On the flip side there is Mike played by Jon Favreau who is the ultimate "Nice Guy" who thinks he should be a perfect gentleman and respect women all the time. He also has "just" gotten out of a relationship almost 6 months ago and can't quite get over it. The scene in which Trent displays being an "Alpha Male" attracting a women is when him and Mike go to Vegas to help Mike forget about his ex and after having gambled for a bit are ready to "Get Some Action." When the cocktail waitress with whom they ordered a drink but lost there money before she could give it to them comes back he orders two drinks and tells her that if she gets the bartender to go easy on the water there is a nice big 50 cent piece in it for her. What makes this scene even better is Mike reveals what is going on in every "Average Joe's" mind by getting upset because he thinks Trent is a total asshole. Needless to say she comes back with the drinks and Mike instead of seeing it for what it is thinks the whole thing was some kind of Jedi Mind trick. Mike displays his "Nice Guy" mentality approach to women during a party, now, Mike and a friend of his from back home are standing in a passageway looking at all the beautiful women, after some time of doing this he finally builds enough courage to talk to a woman so he has his friend wish him luck and then goes and says "Hi" to a couple of women. She then asks him what kind of car he drives instead of ignoring her question are busting on her for an obvious attempt to see if he has any money or power, thereby controlling the power in the conversation he simply answers her thereby giving her the power and since he has neither money or power she simply shuts him out. Now, feeling rejected and believing he has had no luck at the party after only dealing with one woman he simply waits with his friends till they are ready to leave the party. In the end of the movie ironically Mike does end up pulling a girl, however, he gets her by displaying his own alpha male along with good rapport skills. Even though the woman with whom he pulls seemed to be very needy and lonely and in real life would more than like looked more like a young Janet Reno than Heather Graham. |
