Writing an attention-grabbing headlines for online dating ads is one of the most challenging tasks. If your headline fails to grab people's attention, no one's going to read your profile.

Here's what NOT to write in your dating ads.

Believe it or not, these are actual dating ads from the most popular online dating sites. Do not make a terrible mistake by being one of them.

Again, here are some actual examples of what you should NOT write to advertise yourself in your dating ads:

1. Misspellings - "Friendly and talkitive", "hate'n being sinlge again", "would liek to meet new friends"

2. Indifferent - "let's see where this goes", "I want you if you want me", "does this actually work ?"

3. Immature - "looking 4 down 2 earth women 2 chat with", "wanna meet me", "hey peepz if you like wat u c then holla at yo gurl...", "how you doing mate"

4. No essence - "hey fun exciting guy here", "Trying This Out", "seeking slim/petite only", "looking for slim, attractive woman"

5. Nothing to write about - "hey hows it goin", "hello how are you", "Hello there", "Allow myself ..to introduce.. myself", "hey i'm me and you are'?"

6. Self-centered - "Ask me for a picture, and if you are lucky I'll send you one.", "Looking for a woman who can make me happy!"

7. Narcissistic - "A WONDERFUL MAN 4U"

8. Desperate - "hello im glad you responded", "lonely looking for someone to spend some time with", "Is there anyone for me?", "lonely guy looking for lonely lady", "Ready for any thing..", "Tired of Christmas alone", "Are you the right one?", "Bored and lonely"

9. Sexual implications - "Man seeking woman. To please in more ways than one", "Nice guys finish last", "One guy cant handle all this!", "Kitten looking for her toy", "I PROMISE I WONT BITE!!"

10. Fun-seeking only - "looking for no strings fun", "looking for hot women", "I'm successful, discreet and tired of expecations in terms of long term ...wanting action."

11. Boring - "I am a big sports nut"

Try to be yourself while being honest and a little creative at the same time. And I'm sure you'll come up with a great headline for your online dating ads.
