Narendra who later became famous as Swami Vivekananda asked about God to Ramakrishna paramahamsa , his Guru. God is a like a liquid sweet, would you dive into the sea? asked Ramakrishna paramahamsa to Narendra. Paramahamsa continued: Think of a bowl containing the syrup of sugar. Suppose if you are a fly, where would you sit and drink? Narendra replied that he would prefer to sit at the edge of the bowl, for if he came to a point beyond his depth he was sure to be drowned. Ramakrishna laughed and said, By diving deep into the Divine Sea, you need not afraid of death because it is the Sea of IMMORTALITY. The sweet syrup will never causes death. One will become immortal.
