Can A Busy Mom Actually Run A Successful Online Business?

Homework, practices, Dr. Appointments, diapers, food splattered on every wall in the house...It's true that a mother's work is never done. Many mothers are so busy that they only average about six hours of sleep each night. That leaves an entire 18 hours of non-stop work every single day. With our days already so full, why is it that many of us also desire to run a home-based business on top of everything else?

I don't know about all of the other mothers out there, but I know why I have always wanted to run my own business. The main reason is because I have always pictured myself in a certain situation, and it was never an environment where someone else was telling me what to do. For some reason, I just always knew I would be my own boss.

My other reason is simple. Money. Nowadays everyone needs more money. Two-parent families need both parents to work and single parents are finding themselves working a full-time job and a part-time job just to survive. Unfortunately, things aren't exactly looking up, either.

I think one of the top reasons so many other mothers are looking to work from home is also because of the money. They definately don't want to have to go back into "the real world" to work, but they need more money, so working from home is the only other option. Too bad it isn't as easy to do as it sounds.

In my experience it was extremely difficult to find the time necessary to learn a new business, entirely from scratch. It wasn't just because of all of my other responsibilities, either. My family was not very supportive.

My husband worked a full-time job with alot of overtime, so the last thing he wanted to do after he got home from work was take care of 4 kids and stare at the back of my head! Plus, all of my other family just couldn't comprehend where I was coming from. To them, it was insane for me to spend so much time at my desk, while the kids tore the house apart.

But basically, they all had the same problem. They weren't seeing any money!

It's hard for those who don't have our same vision to understand us. They wonder how we can put so much effort into something, for 'nothing.'

But, I assure you, it's not for nothing. Eventually, all of that hard work pays off. And when it does, you won't believe how surprisingly helpful people will become.

The first time I made just $50 two days in a row my husband became a completely different person. All of a sudden he was seeing dollar signs and thinking about what he was going to buy! Before I knew it, he was more than happy to do dinner dishes and wash some clothes and bath the kids and get their snack and put them to bed. And it didn't stop there! My two oldest kids started offering to look after the 2 younger ones so I could "work." Imagine that - all of a sudden I was working!

So, can a busy mom actually run a successful online business? Absolutely! It's just getting to the point where others see that you're running an actual business that's difficult!!

*Don't give up, moms! Fight your way to the top...
