Mosquito Disease

You are probably one of the millions of concerned citizens who watch the nightly news and fear the deadly mosquito disease of West Nile Virus, along with others such as malaria and yellow fever. Certain third world countries have more of a threat of mosquito-borne illnesses, but lately West Nile has created a panic about mosquito disease.

Be informed about the mosquito diseases like the West Nile Virus. This disease is transmitted in the saliva of the female biting mosquito into the human bloodstream. Typically, if an infected mosquito has bitten you, your body will have enough defenses to fight the virus, but if you have a smaller body weight you may be more at risk. Children and animals are also more susceptible to West Nile virus as their immunities are not built up as much as adults.

To protect yourself from any mosquito disease, it is always wise to use an insect repellent containing DEET if you are outdoors for long periods of time or you plan to be hiking or camping. If you are going to be walking in a woodsy area, it is also recommended to wear long pants and long sleeves. You might also choose to use mosquito netting around your campsite. The more cautious you are, the safer you will be and more protected against mosquito carried diseases.

Pests now can easily be fought with mosquito traps and spraying. We realize that is it handy to fight those little criters back with some state of the art mosquito traps. This way you will avoid getting bit or at least reduce the risk of it. There are a number of devices and tools that state that they can kill a mosquito and reduce the number of little skeeters that fly around. Everybody hates the hassle of insect biting mosquitos and plus it isn't safe getting bitten like it used to be.
