Toddler Room Themes - Ideas for Creating a Room Your Toddler Will Enjoy

Creating a toddler room is a little easier than creating a baby room. Unlike when you probably prepared your baby nursery, you now know your child, their personality, and their likes and dislikes. You can take this knowledge and use it to help you create a toddler room that they will love.

Even if you shied away from themes while creating your babys nursery, you may want to consider using one now for their toddler room. Having a room that is designed around a movie or television character or an object that your toddler enjoys will help get him or her excited about getting a new room. It may also help ease the transition from a crib to a toddler bed.

There are a lot of great toddler room themes available. Popular toddler boy room themes include cars, trains, airplanes, Thomas the Tank Engine, Blues Clues, and Finding Nemo. A Disney Cars room theme is also extremely popular with little boys right now also. For toddler girl room themes, a Princess room, especially Disney Princesses is extremely popular as are Hello Kitty, butterflies, ladybugs, flowers, and Dora the Explorer.

Before you decide on a theme, you may want to give you toddler the option of helping you choose. If you think they are capable of making a decision, offer them two or three room themes to choose from. This will help get them excited about their room transformation and make them feel as if they are part of the planning process.

By using a theme they love and including them in the design and planning process, you will be able to create a toddler room that your child will love. It will also help ease this official transition from infancy into toddler hood for you and them!
