Popped Popcorn

Popped corns are a great snack to be had when watching movies or just relaxing. When people are dieting it is hard for them to choose what to eat and what to avoid. Unbuttered popcorns are considered to be light, easy to digest food. Unbuttered popcorn contains fewer calories and has enough fiber that makes it an ideal diet snack.

Plain popcorn by itself could become quite uninteresting after some time. Many flavors such as caramel, plain salted, tomato, cheese, Dill Pickle, Salt and Vinegar, Cheese, White Cheddar, Holiday Corn, and White Popcorn transform it in to a versatile snack. Plain salted popped popcorns can also be mixed with cinnamon, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic and onion salt, peanuts and raisins. They all are options to make the snack a little sweeter or savory.

It is always advisable to keep in mind that after popcorn has been properly popped up it must be served quickly or there are chances of it getting soggy. Popcorns pop best at a temperature of approximately 400 degrees. It is always better not to pop popcorn in butter as that can burn popcorn before the kernels get hot enough. Any cooking oil can be used but it is always better to use light oil to pop corns. Oil should cover the bottom of the pan. However, people can always choose use air popcorn machines. Moreover, air popcorn machines are cheap and do not burn.

Before people plan to buy an electric popper, it is always important to find out whether the machine is automatic or non-automatic. An automatic popper usually contains a thermostat that automatically shuts off the heating element at the end of popping cycle. This is very helpful for people who are making popcorn for the first time. With a non-automatic popper people have to be more careful in order to prevent burning the popcorn once they are completely popped up. It is also very important to see to it that these poppers must be promptly disconnected.

There are many online sites that give information about different types of popped popcorns, the flavors they come in, their colors and different type of popcorn machines.
