This is a big myth, and can be accredited to commercial advertisements that make big promises that they can't keep. 2) Know what you're getting into - Do not expect to be able to quit your job, or get something for nothing. The field of affiliate marketing is getting more and more competitive each day. Affiliates want to maximize their profits, and there are people who are willing to work harder for less. You should be willing to bide your time. 3) Do your research - Affiliate programs these days don't always give you the whole story, right away. Make sure you read through the fine print, so you don't end up losing money. 4) Do not burn out - Some people think that they're really smart by getting into three, or four affiliate programs at a time, when in fact they end up making only a few bucks in each one, and not enough to get a payout in any of them!
